I am not one to be critical of some one’s faith, I feel that everyone has the right to practice what ever religion they want as long as they do not force their views on me or even others. So why you might ask am I writing an article with the title above? Well apparently the Pope and leadership of the Catholic church, have determined that the original 7 mortal sins are not enough for them to try to fight against, they have come up with a new and modern list.
After 1,500 years the Vatican has brought the seven deadly sins up to date by adding seven new ones for the age of globalization. The list, published yesterday in L’Osservatore Romano, the Vatican newspaper, came as the Pope deplored the “decreasing sense of sin” in today’s “secularized world” and the falling numbers of Roman Catholics going to confession.

Just in case some of you forgot, tomorrow, yes, tomorrow is Valentines Day. Don’t forget your significant other.
Although this holiday of cards, candy, and kisses may seem like a fairly recent invention, it has been around for much longer. Valentine’s Day was named after St. Valentine, a Christian martyr during the third century. Scholars speculate that the church chose the date in order to Christianize a pagan holiday. The ancient Roman festival of Lupercalia began on February 15 each year, and it celebrated fertility and the founders of Rome.

Bill Clinton is still selling his influence. The attached article is about the Clinton Influence Machine still turning out Access for Dollars.
His wife isn’t even elected yet and he is forming alliances with Canadian Mining interests and quite lucratively. As the piece states,”Mr. Clinton’s charitable foundation received its own windfall: a $31.3 million donation from Mr. Giustra that had remained a secret until he acknowledged it last month. The gift, combined with Mr. Giustra’s more recent and public pledge to give the William J. Clinton Foundation an additional $100 million, secured Mr. Giustra a place in Mr. Clinton’s inner circle, an exclusive club of wealthy entrepreneurs in which friendship with the former president has its privileges.”
The Libs complain about the Republicans having too close of ties with Big Business but I guess it is different since they are forming ties and watching out for the best interest of Foreign Corporations. I wonder if that was how China got to have all that access to Rocket Technology.
Enjoy the article………and just be happy in the fact that no matter how thing turn out in this election the Clintons will still work diligently for their own and prepaid foreign interests.
In a comment on Hot Air:
I am encouraged that the Old Dem Guard are rejecting the most crooked (Hillary), the most liberal (Kucinich), the most pragmatic (Biden), the most experienced (Richardson), and the most phony (Breck Girl) of the candidates in deference to the one with the least on-the-job knowledge and no ties to modern American liberal politics. It’s a total rejection of their own life-long work, an admission by the liberals of the 60’s-90’s that after all that time they have nothing to offer themselves and are therefore turning to a completely new and untested form of liberalism.
For Ted Kennedy to reject nearly 50 years of his life’s work for someone who is nothing like him is a very telling symbol.
This is worth sharing. Even if a little old.
Y’all know what we all been thinkin’ out here in Texas, Dan, since you started all this foolishness? We think y’all been pissin’ down our necks an’ tellin’ us it’s rain for so long that you boys done got to believin’ it yourselves. Heck, we think maybe you been back East so long you got yourself thinkin’ us folks out here couldn’t hit sand if we fell off our horses; couldn’t hit water if we fell outta the boat. Danged if you ain’t been treatin’ us like you think we got squirrels swimmin’ in our gene pools or sumthin.’ You need to remind yourself that a tree don’t ever get too big for a short dog to lift his leg on, Dan.
Bout them documents bein’ genuine; well, hells-bells, Danny Boy, Grannie’s glasses are so thick, when she looks at a bare wall she see’s folks wavin’ at her, an’ even she can tell them memos are bout as phony as hips on a rattlesnake. We’re startin’ to think your brain done got harder than a woodpecker’s lips if you can’t see that. As far as that story bout George an’ his National Guard duty, looks to us like you’re tryin’ to put wheels on a cow an’ call it a dairy truck. Then you go pokin’ up her butt hopin’ you’re gonna find ice cream. Besides, ever time you durn fools put that picture of young George in his flyboy outfit on the TeeVee, ol’ Jane Fonda loses another herd of her Vagina Voters. Hell, Charlene says that sweet boy’s purtier than my new tangerine metalflake bass boat.

This is too funny. Suing for 70 mil? give me a break!
15 months of Democrats changing things:
October, 2006: George Bush has screwed up this war. We need to elect Democrats to fix it. Here’s a bunch of websites, news reports, and editorials that say so.
Now we have the next step in total socialization of our lives. If this goes through then it is even more proof that the liberal/socialist agenda is not going away.
California energy regulators are considering taking control of residents’ thermostats, giving them the ability to control the temperatures of homes during energy crises, the New York Times reports.
The California Energy Commission is expected to vote on the rules next month, which would give utilities the power to control home thermostats via radio control to manage electricity shortages, the paper reports.

Customers would be able to override utilities’ suggested temperatures, but not during energy emergencies, the New York Times reports. The move, officials say, would help them avoid rotating outages statewide.
“You realize there are times — very rarely, once every few years — when you would be subject to a rotating outage and everything would crash including your computer and traffic lights, and you don’t want to do that,” Arthur H. Rosenfeld, a member of the energy commission, told the Times

The attached article is about the next Lib boon-doggle that the media will flush out and save the world from. That is as soon as they are done putting an end the ‘Global Fleecing’. Although I still haven’t seen the article about that subject that Marc posted on this blog on the evening news yet.

This clip says it all:
United Nations overwhelmingly gave itself a handsome 10 percent pay raise last weekend by approving its $4.2 billion ‘08-’09 budget.
Of course the US will need to pony up to support this “Emporess of the World” staging point for Hilliary. As the article puts it:
If these add-ons materialize as expected, it will be the largest budget - and the largest increase - in UN history (with the United States responsible for the lion’s share - our taxpayers pony up for 22 percent of the world body’s spending).
It is not cheap to run a bureaucracy like this one. If the UN stands a chance at bringing the US to it’s knees then they will need your support and your tax dollars. This next example of where your tax dollars will go is this clip:
“…it contained funding for another go-around of the disgraceful 2001 World Conference against Racism in Durban, South Africa, which turned into an anti-American/Israeli confab so egregious the US delegation walked out.”
Happy reading. After reading this contributions can be sent in to “UN C/O Hilliary Clinton Committee to Rule the World”….

This article from the Free Press states, “Well, according to Great Britain’s chief scientist, this fascination women have with guys who drive sports cars is causing global warming. ”
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1941405/posts
I also heard (maybe the voices in my head) that Global Warming causes women to be fascinated by guys that drive sports cars.
Oh my gosh, it’s a perpetual motion machine. We’re doomed. Get your affairs in order, we are in for a Gore-y end. Sorry to be the bearer of this news, Have a Nice Day.
I am not going to say much in this post except to say how proud I am of my youngest daughter Catherine. About 9 months ago she heard about some friends who were going to grow their hair out for Locks of Love. Now if you do not know about this organization it is one that everyone should know about. Well here is a 4yr old who decides that she wants to help out. So fast forward through 9 months or so of long hair, many knots and tears from brushing and we come to Saturday, her hair had reached the 10 inch requirement and it was time to cut it off so she could donate it. So the pictures of that event are on my blog please go check them out….

Normally I leave the headlines for my personal site but these three stories caught my eye and for some reason I felt compelled to share them. Three stories from three different parts of the world, just to give you some perspective about where we in the US are today are in comparison to others.
First is the commentary on CNN.com by Roland S. Martin. This gentleman, along with Jason Whitlock of the Kansas City Star is one of the most outspoken critics of Blacks in society today. This includes the fact that the traditional family structure is no longer present in a large part of black society.
He was one of the first that I saw that blasted Michael Vick for his actions, and has been an outspoken critic with regards to what has to be done to fix the problems that are present in black culture today.
Here is the opening of his article….

Today is the one day a year that we pause to reflect on all of our Blessings, and Thank our God for them.
This is a good start from American Spectator.
It strikes me that thanks are, all too often, no longer enough a part of Thanksgiving. It appalls me that many churches don’t even hold Thanksgiving services — even though the day itself is specifically intended to be a day of giving thanks to God for the blessings of the American nation.
We give thanks on this day specifically as, and because we are, Americans.
In that light, in addition to all my private thanksgivings, here are some of the things for which I will thank God tomorrow, on Thanksgiving Day.
Then there are so many personal Blessings I have received this year, and continue from past years.
Happy thanksgiving all of you!
I have read of road rage, been roughly jostled in an incident of “bus rage” and have witnessed “supermarket rage” [in which, in the UK, customers fight over the last Brussels sprout just before closing time on Christmas Eve]. None of these is excusable but they are, I suppose, understandable because they usually involve people who feel at the end of their tether. Not long before I left the UK [I now live in Italy] I experienced, in the city of Bristol, an occurrence of “restaurant rage” and to this day I find the reasons for it totally incomprehensible:
Bristol is the city where I spent my formative years so when I felt in need of a change of scenery I would often take the train over there from Cardiff, visit some galleries, have lunch and wander around the streets of my childhood.
On this particular occasion, a glorious summer’s day, I decided to have lunch in a waterfront restaurant belonging to a now defunct chain. I settled myself at a window table in the non-smoking section and was happily sipping my apéritif when a couple sat down at the next table. The woman immediately lit a cigarette. Now, the ban on smoking in public places came into force in England on Sunday and, whatever your opinion about that, I hope you don’t think it is OK to light up in the non-smoking section of a restaurant where there is an equally large [and it was empty] smoking area. None of the nearby staff blinked an eyelid, so I politely asked the lady if she realised that she was in the non-smoking section: “I’ll wait till they tell me” she replied in a broad American accent, blowing smoke in my direction. Admittedly I am sensitive about this as I am asthmatic and cigarette smoke can trigger an attack, but I patiently asked her to desist twice more, to no avail. Finally I decided I was paying for this meal and wasn’t going to be made to feel uncomfortable so I mentioned the situation quietly to a member of staff, who asked the couple to move. With that, the woman marched up to me and got as close as she could possibly get without actually sitting in my lap. She made a gesture which I’ll leave to your imagination and yelled, “Up yours, lady. Right up.” Everyone in the room stopped drinking, eating or serving to stare but no one did a thing. [This was Britain, remember!] I realised, then, that what this person wanted was my window table, so for the sake of peace, I began to move. Then she made the mistake of cooing: “Oh, you changing your table, honey? Oh, goodie, now we can sit here. I’ll just help you clear your mess.” I sat down again and resolved to stay put.
After that, all was well till I ordered a dessert and then Madam sauntered up to me again: “You still stuffing yourself, honey? Look at the size of you!” [For the record, I am a healthy British size 16, as are the majority of British women.] I said coolly, “It’s a restaurant and, strange though it my seem to you, it is customary to eat in one.” I thought she was going to hit me then but she strutted back to the smoking section.
By then, however, I felt so intimidated that when I wanted to use the bathroom, I asked a female bartender to accompany me, as I was afraid of being followed and physically attacked. The management should, of course, have thrown this female out [their excuse was that the "regular manager" was on holiday and they didn't know what to do] and I should have refused to pay the bill. However, I just wanted to get out of there without further hassle and I felt uneasy until I had walked at least two streets further on.
Looking back, what amazed me was that this woman’s husband / partner uttered not a word throughout this performance. [Again, you can draw your own conclusions as to the reason for that!]
The days have long gone - though I am old enough to remember them - when women dining alone were automatically shown to the table behind the swing doors of the kitchen, but I think this incident does say something about how women on their own can still be treated when they eat out. I have friends in Britain who, if they have to spend a night in a hotel without their partner, will not venture into the restaurant. I chide them for being pathetic, but if I related this tale to them it would hardly make them more confident, would it?
Has anyone else experienced “restaurant rage”?
