John McCain appears to be listening to conservatives and letting himself be convinced that the majority are right. He has changed his mind on a few things as he was presented with facts. Now if someone would feed him the facts on man made Global climate change, I think he has the smarts to change his mind.

He needs to go to ANWR and see the limited nature of the proposed drilling site and see how the wildlife flourishes near current production sites. That would convince him to drill. On other issues, as POTUS he would not have much of a say, as they are Congress’s mandate.

McCain is “God and Country first” as shown by his entire life.

    This Post says it all.

I think Baraq Hussain Obama is for himself first. I think God and country are far behind. We cannot afford him as CIC.

McCain’s attacks against Obama are biting, caustic, sarcastic, and ringing true which is why he is staying close to Obama and why, in the end, all the re-invention Obama can muster isn’t going to matter:

    See this post

I vote McCain. Anything else at this point is suicide.

Marc as distasteful as McCain may be you are dead right sir!

McCain is making a smooth transition from no drill to drill, drill, drill; I imagine he has kicked Lindsey in the shins, whether it will do any good remains to be seen. (tag him to Jim Demint)

Alaska Governor Palin is for drilling as are Alaskans, a trip could result in epiphany.

    Nat,

I had really gotten frustrated with McCain, and I now realize why. He is a whole lot like my Dad was. My dad was Irish/French/Indian, with an emphasis in the Irish.

It took a large effort so change my Dad’s mind, even if wrong, once it was made up. I went down that road many times when I was a young adult. With perseverance I usually succeeded if I had all of my facts straight.

McCain is the same in that way. If someone puts all of the facts together on a topic, He will think it through and is willing to admit he was wrong. I think you are right, he needs to hang out with Palin for a few days.

Baraq Obamma can’t do that. Facts be damned.

BTW, thanks for commenting here. I am keeping the open comments going here for a while. Wino is covered up in his new job, so I am cutting him some slack.

    Wino:

Thanks for the slack, Marc. I have some stuff to put up, after I finish the research. I think folks will find it interesting. Of course, it deals with the present energy situation.

And some photos. I’m FINALLY organizing my pictures. Look for more, probably this evening. I’m sitting down at the computer before noon, to do some work and some needed computer maintenance… which includes WordPress (Fauxnews) updates and a new article, at the least. Keep tuned until later this evening.

I apologize for my absence. I’m going to LA next week. I hope to have some spare time while there to get at least one more article or 100% true* story posted.

*Unless and until a living and credible witness can be found who can testify otherwise.

On the Energy front, Here is the letter I am sending out tomorrow morning to my Reps in Congress.

    Marcus and Sally Boyd
    08/08/2008 P. O. Box 1439
    Brookshire Texas 77423

    Dear Congressional Leaders,

My wife Sally and I are for McCain’s “all of the above” energy strategy.

We believe that it is of the utmost importance to remove the drilling ban entirely. Put in place Enviornmental rules that are comon sense based, and let the oil companies provide their input.

I am retired from Conoco, who won many honors for Enviromental safety and practices. The Technology today is very good. There are many wells within sight of shore in the Western Gulf. Look at the area around Aransas National Wildlife Refuge.

There have been no spills in the Gulf that I have heard of. Ever. Certainly none in Conoco’s areas of activity.

We now have this “Gang of Ten” trying to water down efforts to get us to energy independence.

The link below is for the quote below from the WSJ article.

    POTOMAC WATCH
    By KIMBERLEY A. STRASSEL

Friday, in stumbled Sens. Lindsey Graham, John Thune, Saxby Chambliss, Bob Corker and Johnny Isakson — alongside five Senate Democrats. This “Gang of 10″ announced a “sweeping” and “bipartisan” energy plan to break Washington’s energy “stalemate.” What they did was throw every vulnerable Democrat, and Mr. Obama, a life preserver.

That’s because the plan is a Democratic giveaway. New production on offshore federal lands is left to state legislatures, and then in only four coastal states. The regulatory hurdles are huge. And the bill bars drilling within 50 miles of the coast — putting off limits some of the most productive areas. Alaska’s oil-rich Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is still a no-go.

The highlight is instead $84 billion in tax credits, subsidies and federal handouts for alternative fuels and renewables. The Gang of 10 intends to pay for all this in part by raising taxes on . . . oil companies! The Sierra Club couldn’t have penned it better. And so the Republican Five has potentially given antidrilling Democrats the political cover they need to neutralize energy through November.

Sen. Obama was thrilled. He quickly praised the Gang’s bipartisan spirit, and warmed up to a possible compromise. Of course, he means removing even the token drilling provisions now in the bill. But he’s only too happy for the focus to remain on the Gang’s efforts, and in particular on the five Republicans providing his party its fig leaf.

Equally gleeful was Louisiana’s Mary Landrieu, the Senate’s most vulnerable Democrat. She had been sweating the energy debate, especially after her vote against more oil-shale production — a position her Republican opponent, John Kennedy, had used against her to great effect. Yet there she was, chummily standing with the Gang of 10 and boasting that she is working with “five Republicans” to “lower prices at the pump by increasing offshore drilling here at home.”

Mr. McCain, who had been commanding the energy debate, was left to explain why he, of all people, wasn’t more enthusiastic about a “bipartisan” effort on energy, especially one that includes “drilling.” His camp was forced to take refuge in taxes, explaining that their boss couldn’t sign up for a bill that included more. If this is what Mr. McCain’s good friend Lindsey Graham considers “helping,” somebody might want to ask him to stop. “

These folks are not getting it. Neither is Nancy or Harry.

Consider that oil prices dropped $20 or more immediately following Pres. Bush’s lifting of the drilling ban.
If the drilling ban is lifted entirely, the market will respond favorably for us poor consumers. We are struggling

Then let’s get moving on all of the alternative energy possibilities!

    Thank you for listening!

Back from Kiddo’s College graduation. It is finished. All was wonderful. My two little granddaughters are absolutely spectacular and we had a great time. The littlest one, 4 years old, started saying yesterday, Grammy, you’re gonna miss me when I’m gone. How true her words. I shed no tears, but did get close a couple of times, one at graduation and one at the goodbyes. It’s just now hitting me that kiddo is not “at school” anymore. That’s always been a comfort. I have no idea where she will land. Her brother wants her to move to Colorado, her best friend works for Kay Bailey in D.C., but I fear wherever she goes, it will be far. My little bird is spreading her wings to fly away.

    I watched Stalin’s tanks roll through Hungary, learned the term, ‘Molotov cocktail’, and we did nothing; I watched Russia invade Afghanistan and Carter boycott the Olympics, which was nothing;
now Bush goes to the Olympics, Russia invades Georgia; and we do nothing.

    Disgusting

    My newest weird nature report-
Yesterday I was a tad hungry so I pulled into Wendy’s ( today I’m back on the diet (hehe). I pulled into a parking space to eat my sandwich, when a young starling landed on my drivers side, outside mirror.I had just unwrapped the hamburger. He looked at me. I looked at him. He was just getting new feathers and a little scroungy looking. I tapped my window button and the window came down a little. He didn’t move. He just kept looking at me. I tapped down the window a little more. I tore off a piece of my bun, and tossed it out to him. He immediately took it from the pavement! He just wanted a small smackrel I suppose. Amazing. I haven’t seen the tree frogs who are residing in the bird house in a few days. Nor have I seen the parakeet. I’ll keep you posted on my zoo.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh what a cute Wendy’s story. :) Don’t let PETA know that the bird ate bread from Wendy’s they would come after you for corrupting the environment. Waiting for the next zoo report AW.

It’s the weekend and I am off to work later after I cut up my tree branch that broke yesterday off my pecan tree. If my car was in the driveway this branch (HUGE) would of smashed my car. You can tell my tree needs trimming. Everyone have a great day.
