Good Morning! DJ, if you are around, Buddy The Cat, loves the new wet cat food and is on his second can this morning. See women sometimes do listen. hehe.

Taxes are finished. I love Turbo Tax. Yesterday I went with a friend from LST to Lenny and Ziggy’s deli. Delish…… but I was hob-knobbing. Rusty Hardin was there, talking to a table of people close to me. An expensive suit sure does make the man.
Ah a muggy, weighted air kind of cloudy spring day. Hot weather is approaching. Can you feel it coming? Tomorrow Ed Hendee will be with Jose Compean, at his Ohio prison. It will be interesting to see what he has to say. It will be around 8 a.m. our time, I think. Don’t forget to vote!
I have a US Border Watch meeting this evening. That’s the first since I started working with them, and wonder what it’s about. Will inform later, if I can.
It’s warming up outside. The grass is growing fast already, NO feed for it this year, till fall. Randy Lemon’s gulf coast feeding schedule is working too good! hehe
Mornin all, another day that God has given to us.™
bweldon since I will be at I-10 and Fry I am going to try to swing by your church this Sunday. Thanks for the tip.
Hi everybody. Kiddo got confirmation from the University and will graduate AUGUST 9 ( one day before my birthday) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! yes it finally will happen!! funny thing… we were talking this morning and she was saying she would like to visit India, and Uganda some day. I suggested the Peace Corps………… thinking it would be immediately rejected.. But no, she is considering it. This is princess kiddo of the hair straightening device and air conditioning. I could kick myself for the suggestion and hope it fades fast.
India and Uganda — think Malaria and Yellow Fever and lot’s of shots for preventatives… Not wanting to travel to all those fun “hot spots” is the excuse my boss gave for laying me off…
Kent, I have no idea where she will land. I think DC is loosing it’s luster. She can stay on and be lead recording engineer for another semester, the school told her. I think it will take her a while to get a ” real” job, so she may do that.
I’m sure she’ll do fine–tell her to take her time and find the right thing–the first “real” job will have a lot to do with how she’s perceives “work” down the road.
We’re going to have to talk about the PC–my exstep-daughter went in for 2 years and ended up in Nicaragua, then …anyway, I’lll send email. My thoughts for her best go with you both.
Good Morning……… Kent, if this is what Kiddo wants to do……. then so be it. It’s her life….. but mama will worry. I would worry also if she chose the military so… it’s her life.
Marc, I agree the story is a little off-putting, but the ending is great. It makes one wonder about
” who we are”
There was a book that I started, but didn’t finish, several years ago, that claimed that a certain amount of intelligence was located in the Heart. This is talking from a biological standpoint, not emotional. I thought it was a bit hokey then, but maybe not…
Stormy that is interesting! I just had a giant swallowtail butterfly in my yard. Gorgeous! It looks like the little spring warbler has left me……. hope he does ok.
Good Morning! Friday……… wheeeeeeeeeeeee. The Border Watch meeting was good, and I have good news coming. But, am waiting to tell y’all until everything is confirmed.
Just saw a Pileated Woodpecker in the yard. Unfortunately, by the time I could get outside with my camera, it was out of range. They are such awesome birds!
just a quick reminder.. plant sale and BBQ tomorrow for more details se above also have finally gotten around to posting something on my blog. please check it out…
These birds are huge! Almost 20″ (as big as a small hawk). They are black bodied with white on their wings — it was the black/white wings that caught my attention when it flew across the driveway. Then I saw it land on the tree… And then I saw it fly out of view. Bummer.
They look very much like the infamous Ivory Billed Woodpecker.
AW
Actually basically from the Friday before testing till the following Saturday is one big circus what with awards and other things going on.
I hope to post a story about some of my experiences as a instructor. For the most part the kids are a good group, but some of the things I have seen makes you wonder some times.
Oh what a wonderful morning this looks to be. Sunny, cool, just splendid. Today the tickets go on sale for John Michael Montgomery’s concert. I am so excited I just about can’t stand myself.
Good morning all,
Ditto AW, I got up around 5 this morning to let Zoe out to do her business and it was nice and cool. Wino and I are on our way out to get more yard work done this weekend.
AW,
I have tickets to go and see R.E.O. Speedwagon and Lover Boy next month and in July I’m going to see Journey, Cheap Trick and some other band. I’m with ya girl. Can’t wait to see these guys. I won’t have second row seats, but it will still be an experience.

AW,
At first I was kind of spooked out until the part where she met the boy’s mother. That was a blessing to her, I could tell.
In the healing, I wonder if adult stem cells were at work.

Bweldon, congratulations to you and yours. I wondered what had happened with the testing, but was afraid to ask, since you hadn’t mentioned it.

I wish I had a pic!! Here’s the page on Cornell: http://www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/BirdGuide/Pileated_Woodpecker.html
