SGT Shaun P. Tousha, 30, of Huntsville, TX became the 100th fatal casualty of the war from this area when he died Wednesday in Baghdad from wounds suffered after an improvised explosive device exploded near his vehicle, the Department of Defense announced Thursday. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood.
SGT Tousha was raised in Hull TX, about 60 miles northeast of Houston, and graduated from Hull-Daisetta High School. He played football for the school and liked horseback riding. He moved to Huntsville before entering the service. Funeral services will be in Huntsville at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home @ 1000 Hrs, with Interment at the Boswell Cemetery in New Waverly immediately following.
SSGT Hartley is a Ranger and was on his 5th tour of duty. SSGT Hartley was on many key missions in Iraq. This soldier saw a lot of action on his 5 tours and was awarded many metals.
Jeffery Hartley graduated from Hempstead High School in 2001. He played on the football team and was a member of the power-lifting squad.
Jeffery’s father Lt. David Hartley has been a police officer for 25 years with the last 16 in Hempstead. We already know there will be a large presence of law enforcement at his escort from Hooks Air Port and at the final services this week.
