Good Morning! I couldn’t believe how soft and warm the air was when I stepped out this morning. I noticed the arizona ash is starting to bud again. yeahhh
I couldn’t have typed this any better myself - from LST…………
“For the last 48 years, the Democratic Party has advanced its agenda by taking victories, large and small, licking its wounds in defeat, but never, ever giving an inch gained. They understand this is a fight over the long haul of history.
Republicans, appropriately known as the Stupid Party, want to throw in the towel when they don’t get their way by large measures and sweeping reforms. The Democrats realized they couldn’t get the big wins in the legislative branch in the 1960s. They very shrewdly moved to incrementally hijack the judicial system in the US where they actually could achieve sweeping changes in the application of laws or the nullification of conservative legislative action.
We have finally reached, after some 40 years, a point in history where we could take back the federal judiciary and stop the bleeding. On abortion, welfare, national security, property rights, gun laws, separation of powers, religious freedom, school choice, etc. But the myopic and politically retarded members of the Right are too busy whining about their personal property tax bills this month to have the vision and foresight to fight the real battle for the soul of this nation.”
Anyone care to GUESS how much CASH of this “wonderful rebate” we’re about to get will be going directly to Western Unions all over the country for direct transmission to MEXICO??
bweldon, I don’t know if one can write in on a presidential vote, but if it’s McCain against Hillary/Obama, I will write in Duncan Hunter. If not, I will look at who is running third party. If no one there, and I cannot write in, I’ll skip it. McCain is a maverick, Hillary is socialist, Obama is we don’t know what. If the American people are moving left in thought, and want a president who is more liberal in action, the vote will show that. I am conservative, and won’t change. I do worry that the number of people who depend on government to exist, is gowing to grow until we conservatives are so outnumbered, we become socialist permanently. If Mrs.Bill wins, I think the republicans will sweep in 4 years. If McCain wins, the republicans will run him again in 4. So, in my mind, a vote for McCain is a vote for 8 years. I know you will have great arguements to opppose my thought. But, you won’t change it.
Mornin all, another day that God has given to us.™ Everyone stay dry today. I have a interview this afternoon now I need to figure out what I am going to wear for the interview.
Wino or Marc - I’m lost here - the new format that PGR sends out their emails in has me confuzzled how to publish with a “better fit” in here………..HELP!
I know what happened with the original document. They are formating for Email, setting the contents into table form and trying to get fancy.
This WordPress editor is not real smart. When you do the “more” tag, the ending tag gets cut off. that is what messed things up. I removed the “table” tag at the beginning and the “/table” tag at the end to fix it. You have to use WordPress’ editor to see the code so you can change it. It would be easier if you could tell whoever is sending you the Email to send only plain text, not styled.
Aw, no just wondering where you stood with regards to things, and your reasoning why.
I personally see it pretty close to what you do, the one difference is that I cannot sit back and not cast my lot even if I have to hold my nose to do it. It really comes down to the fact that I remember the Carter administration very well that was when I was just old enough to understand the fundamentals of the political process, and I remember Nightline, and all of the Hostage crisis. Because of that I will do everything I can to keep another do good, feel good socialist out of the white house.
The one thing I can say about Bill Clinton, is at least he would hold his finger up into the wind and see which way it was blowing before he did or said anything. His wife would have is going to government clinics, and all being federal employees if she could.
Bweldon, I am older than you and lived through Carter. I have survived gas lines, and an interest rate that went to 16% for home buying. I saw the midwest become so start that people came in droves to Texas. People slept in cars, lived under bridges etc. If Hillary enacts all of her programs, where do you think the money will come from? Us, right? And when health care becomes so bad because its socialized, people will scream bloody murder. That’s when the conservatives come in and sweep. We can survive it.
Good Morning! It’s chipper this morning, and it’s Friday wheeeeeeeeee! Tomarrow, back to Stuebner Airline south of Louette to work the day labor site. If you are in the area, stop by and say hi.
Mornin all, another day that God has given to us.™
AW When I was married my husband and I bought a house here in Houston in March of 1982 and we did go through the high interest rates and before that we were in California where the gas lines were UNBELIEVABLE. Hillary or Obama would be IMHO be twice as bad as Carter.
AW, I remember the gas lines, I remember my mother dropping us off at morning swim practice and then going and sitting and waiting for her chance to fill up the car. I remember the even and odd days fill up rules, I remember the oil bust of that hit Houston so bad that my father went from a stable job making enough money to provide for the family to barely making ends meet and my mother having to go to work to help pay the bills. I remember the misery index that Reagan brought out during the election in 1980.
Age aside, ( and to be honest I don’t think you are that much older than me), I believe that what Carter did, or failed to do in some cases is minor in comparison to what Clinton would try to get done. Carter basically sat around and thought that his good ole boy persona would work with everyone world wide. Well the sad thing is that is was more of an inept leader who would not have known where the button for the nukes was if Ford had not shown him. Clinton on the other hand, had a dream of a socialistic society where she and a select few of her buddies tell everyone else what we can eat, drive, and wear, as well as what we can and cannot do.
But the what I think we both agree upon is that what ever person is elected,(Clinton, Obama, McCain) if for any reason the country slips into a serious recession, or there is another terror attack, you will see a dramatic shift, this time to the right, similar to what we saw during Vietnam.
Everyone, I have said it before and I will say it again,
The liberals realized a long time ago that they could not enact their socialistic plans in one big sweeping movement, they have taken things inch by inch, and that is the way we need to take things back. The problem is we( conservatives) always come to the rescue with these grand plans to change this or change that, but because of the way things are set up in our government we have consistently fallen upon our collective faces. The closest we have come to beating the liberals at their game was the contract with America. That is the way to beet them. Talk about making changes and do it in small pieces. Yes I realize that gradual change is not as dramatic, nor do the end results seem to ever get here. But what would the liberals be yelling about if something like this was passed.
1) Constitutional amendment that restricts the growth of all government programs to that of inflation
2) If you are on welfare, your benefits will be frozen at the current amounts, indexed over time for inflation.
3) Social Security, if you are over 55 increase 401k and IRA deposit limits, If you are between 45 and 55 you can chose to route up to 25% of the money you pay to Social Security to your personal retirement account, however your benefit will be reduced buy that same percentage. 45 -30 you can route up to 50% of your social security money to your personal retirement account and your benefit will be reduced by the same percentage. under 30 can opt out completely on their payments, and have them routed to personal retirement accounts.
The key is that the employer will still pay their portion into SS. See this way SS is still funded however individuals can opt out of that program and be responsible for their own retirement.
But the thing is that we have to start making changes like the liberals do or we will always be fighting a losing battle.
Back from working the day labor site at Louetta and Stuebner Airline. A quiet day. Nothing much to report except they had a flag this time. The pan-am flag of the central american countries and mexico. One of the guys who is always there, I call him yellow shirt, has lost his funding from the catholic church. He isn’t happy with us. Too bad.
