I did want to put the following analysis of HRC up front for the week so everyone has a chance to read it and pass it along to friends.

Thanks to American Thinker and James Lewis, who did a lot of good research for the article. This is a must read:

This is not a person we want in the White House for four years, much less four days.

Pass it on!

Good Morning! I went to see ” PS. I LOVE YOU” with kiddo yesterday. What a great film. I recommend it. It might be best to see it with a girlfriend, rather than a husband. It’s emotional, and I’m not sure a guy would enjoy all that. We walked out of the theater…….so moved……trying to digest all the feelings…. amazing film.

Quote: “Personally, Rudy Giuliani has been publicized as having a mistress and possibly misusing his office to have her escorted or otherwise protected. This does not speak well for his personal morals, but I do not see where that would necessarily affect his ability to lead as president. Were he to keep doing such things, I would probably change my mind, but from what I have read, his indiscretions were a one-time thing, albeit for several years. Since that time, he has apparently been morally on the right track… or at least better able to conceal his indiscretions.” End of Quote.

I can’t help but post a copy of the above comment from a December post re: Giuliani’s character, composed and written by one, Wino.

I never cease to be amazed by the selective memories of some. By many, I should say, probably the majority.

Why is it, I wonder, that so many people choose to so easily forget their own indiscretions and duplicities, while, in the meantime, they are so prepared and willing to throw stones at others? (For the same “crimes” they’ve committed.) Can he, who tosses the stone, look within himself and say he is innocent of similar indiscretions? Surely he can’t knowing he has done similar throughout his life.

I guess it’s kind of like fewer who know about it, makes it okay, and perhaps if there are few who know about it, then it actually didn’t happen. Nope…it doesn’t wipes the slate clean, nor does it clear away the memory as if it never happened.

Does it really matter? Guiliani, like you, like me - like all of us who prefer to be honest about who we are, is human.

At least he has the guts to reveal who he is - warts and all.

    Dagny:

The duplicity of my comment is because I am no longer permitted to edit my comments, let alone post. As I needed to make an amendment because of my “non-permission”, even though I was one of two who originally set up this blog, I was forced to be repetitive, but then that, sometimes, is the only way to get the message across, isn’t it?

Well it’s not often I find myself speechless - so I’ll stick to ‘Mornin Blogospherians™’

    Dagny:

No worries, Katfish. I’ll join you in the speechless department, so don’t feel alone. No one, it appears, is Robinson Crusoe. The reason I also am speechless is that my corrected comment was the one deleted, not the one that required amendment. Strange that, but then, stranger things have happened, and, of course, will continue happening.

    Dagny,

This appears to be a personal issue for you, and I in no way am making any judgments on that as I know nothing about “your side of the story” as it were. But as to how I view politicians with respect to adultery, I don’t think it’s unfair to hold them to a higher standard than I would hold a buddy that I drink a few beers with from time to time. This would be particularly true of a politician running for what is basically the most powerful elected office in the world.

With that said, I am faithful to my wife. So I would expect at least my own level of moral rectitude from a presidential candidate. Likely, many would make the argument that politicians have many more opportunities to go astray than an everyday guy like me. While true, it doesn’t change my expectation. That just means politicians need to be even more morally committed to doing what is right than I am.

Again, it comes back to holding them to a higher standard. Holding them to a higher standard isn’t unreasonable in that regard unless you think that being faithful in your marriage is, in itself, an unreasonable, unattainable or unrealistic standard. Infidelity in the office of The President is certainly not a new thing. But neither is it a thing that we voters should be expected to just accept as OK or normal.

    Dagny,

People (even politicians) have affairs and girl/boy friends for various reasons. I prefer the honest approach to let the current know before doing the deed but for fear or many other reasons most don’t take that road.

Since I don’t know the story behind this affair of Guiliani’s I will reserve comment, but it is not his best moment. (At least it was not in the oval office with cigars, which I would take exception to).

As for government money to protect this new friend, well if Hilliary picked up new girlfriend on the campaign trail, I can assure you that he/she would get some protection from the Secret Service and the American people would get the bill.

    Dagny:

    Dude and 64Novaman,

I have little or no admiration for any of the current running candidates, whether he or she be Republican or Democrat, black or white, Muslim, Christian or otherwise. I think this bunch are all dick-heads and if they are the best to be presented to the voting public to be elected to hold the office of president and become the leader of the Western World, then woe be to all of us, on all sides of all oceans.

Are there no true leaders left in the world today? Are there no men/women worthy of our respect, admiration, trust and loyalty? On the other hand, has there ever been?

What is “morality”? One man’s idea of morality is so vastly different to another’s that not one of us has the right stand up and preach it, not without sounding or appearing highly hypocritical, in my opinion.

And on that note, I bow out. I have a plane to catch in a matter of hours, which means I have a few things to do and finish before doing so.

Good morning. It’s warmer this morning! Kiddo and Eddie the puppy are back home in Denton. It’s so quiet around this house! Eddie got car sick on the way up…….and kiddo had to clean it……no mom to do it for her. This will be a good learning experience. My two dogs are exhausted. I think it will take a couple of days for them to recover from Eddie lol.

    Howdy all,

Hey, AW! Wino and I are doing great. We have both been busy with work and, of course, the wedding plans. It’s getting closer guys. Yes, there is going to be a blog wedding!

It seems we have had a visit from a long lost stranger. That’s fine with me, but I like lost and speechless better.

Hey, Emme! Thanks for all the emails. I have a good one coming your way.

AW..I heard this morning that Edd Hendee will be down at the Johnny Satan meeting tomorrow at 8:00am. That is great that the plans are moving forward on the wedding Mrs Wino. :)

AW I was thinking that there ought to be signs made for tomorrow saying something like ” Johnny Sutton puts OUR Border agents at risk” or something to that effect…

Heads up from Texpat over on LST:

    “Radio Show Recommendation !

Larry Kudlow has a local program out of NYC every Saturday morning on WABC Radio. For an hour each week, he and John McIntyre discuss the election events of the week, Republican and Democrat. McIntyre, of RealClearPolitics.com, is very, very good and he is consistently unbiased in his commentary. It’s the best show on the election in the country that I have heard. Sometimes he has other guests like Byron York, Craig Crawford, Frank Gaffney, etc.

    Listen via the internet here:

Saturdays: 9 AM to 12 Noon CST”

Emme, and all… I am back from the event picketing Johnny Sutton. We arrived about 7:15, and set out flags to line the block. There were special signs made for the day. Some said, Fire Johnny Sutton. Mine read, Deport Johnny Sutton, Release Ramos and Compeon, There were probably 100 people there, Some made their own signs…….. and some were very clear about what they wanted. We had two bull horns, and law students leaving the building assured us, our voices were heard inside. Those on the bull horns were very clear about where we stand, and what we think of him. One man came who was in a wheel chair. It was a good morning. Edd Hendee was there, gave our opening prayer to start our event, and updated us on Ramos. The court should rule, as soon as in two weeks. If they throw out the hand gun charge, with the 10 year sentence, he should be released. Edd said he will fly there to get him and bring him to Houston. Sutton is determined to appeal, but at least Ramos will be released on bail. The Ramos family is having a terrible time. Mrs. Ramos lost her job when her company moved away. If anyone feels like donating, I am sure you can google his name, or go to US Border Watch and get money to the family.
