A Bit Of An Update
It used to be that using the term “Defeatocrats” in place of “Democrats” was merely a semi-humorous, and somewhat unimaginative, bit of hyperbole (and I’ll confess to using it myself). Now, a quote in this story, leaves me wondering.
Pelosi said it is important for congressional Democrats to reassert their platform for a change in direction in Iraq.”This is not a supplemental that says to the president you asked for it, you got it — no questions asked,” Pelosi told reporters, adding that the President has a “tin ear and a blind eye” to what is going on the ground in Iraq.
“This is not working. There is no light at the end of the tunnel. We must reverse it.We come here and take an oath of office to protect America,” Pelosi said.
A story Nancy may want to read is here, albeit hidden way back on page A-19:
BAGHDAD, Nov. 7 — American forces have routed Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia, the Iraqi militant network, from every neighborhood of Baghdad, a top American general said today, allowing American troops involved in the “surge” to depart as planned.
Maj. Gen. Joseph F. Fil Jr., commander of United States forces in Baghdad, also said that American troops had yet to clear some 13 percent of the city, including Sadr City and several other areas controlled by Shiite militias. But, he said, “there’s just no question” that violence had declined since a spike in June.
“Murder victims are down 80 percent from where they were at the peak,” and attacks involving improvised bombs are down 70 percent, he said.
Let me repeat that quote from the person third in line for the Presidency:
“This is not working. There is no light at the end of the tunnel. We must reverse it.We come here and take an oath of office to protect America,” Pelosi said.
Well, this forces me to make an update to a chart I posted a couple of days ago:

I’m also forced to make a correction to that New York Times article.
Al Queda in Iraq did not “leave” Baghdad. Our soldiers brought boots. Al Queda brought ass.

I am concerned the Republicans in the senate will weaken and allow this Pelosi fiasco spending bill to go through. Even tho, we are winning, the mainstream press is trying to keep that hidden. I am not sure how many midwesterners are aware of the success. It seems that decisions are poll driven.

I actually didn’t highlight the most ignorant thing Pelosi said:
Perhaps, she should listen to what the Generals are telling her about what is going on the ground in Iraq.
Maybe if she did, she wouldn’t think we need to “reverse it.”

Pelosi has a deaf ear, and a blind eye, except when it comes to Democrat power.
I think the dems are in for a real awakening. I think that 2008 is going to show that the US citizen is sick and tired of do-nothing, or do-something-against-our-wishes government. The Dems have really stepped into it with their bumbling and obvious partisan attacks that are against the GOP directly, but against the US indirectly.

[...] hopes that the party that admits that this good news will be a problem for them and continues to make believe the “problem” does not exist, which is coincidentally also in now charge of who becomes the next Generals to fight the Long War [...]
